Buying a bike online is easier than you think. Here’s some information on how our bikes are sized up and how to measure all of the important parts of your body like they never taught you in school. If you’re still unsure, then email us and we’ll do our best to help.
How are bike frames measured?
Bike sizes are taken from the seat tube length. This is the measurement from the centre axle bolt (bottom bracket) to the top of the seat tube.
Choosing the right size
Each product page shows a height range for the frame sizes available (check the ‘Size & Spec’ tab). For even more accuracy, find yourself a tape measure and follow these steps:
- Stand against a wall with your shoes off
- Keep your legs together and your shoulders back
- Place a pencil flat on top of your head and mark the wall
- Measure the distance from the mark on the wall to the floor
Stuck between sizes?
If you’re between sizes, then the next step is to hold your arms out like a golden eagle and measure your wingspan (sound effects are optional).
- Hold your arms out and measure from fingertip to fingertip across the top of your chest.
- To find out whether you have a short or long reach, calculate your ‘Ape Index’ (your arm span measurement minus your height).
- If you have a positive Ape Index, then go for the larger size. If you have a negative Ape Index, then go for the smaller size.
All of our sizes take into account the stand over height (clearance between the top tube and your private parts) and allow around 1 to 2 inches clearance.
You might be closer than you think you are to riding your dream bike.

Terms
In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, we might in the checkout pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice.
How long does it take to apply online?
Typically less than 3 minutes – seriously, it’s that quick. Your application is then instantly sent to the finance company and most applicants should have a yes or no within about 10 seconds, although sometimes it takes longer to process. If we can’t give you an instant decision for whatever reason, we’ll follow up on email as soon as we reach a decision.
Can I cancel my credit agreement if I change my mind?
No problem. You have the right under section 66A of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to withdraw from the credit agreement without giving any reason within 14 days of receiving delivery.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Up to you. As part of the application, you decide if you’d like to pay a deposit or not. This is paid using a credit or debit card during the application. The amount of the deposit is shown in the credit summary and on the credit agreement itself.
How much does the loan cost?
The total cost of the loan is shown clearly on the finance agreement.
Are there any other charges?
If you fail to pay any amount you owe under the Credit Agreement by the date it is due, the finance company may charge you interest on that amount and they may also levy additional fees. Please refer to your copy of the credit agreement for more information.
How long before I have to start to repay the loan?
The finance company will confirm your repayment schedule in writing. The first payment depends on which option you choose.

Our DNA is to keep everything simple.
Always has been, always will be. That’s Mango Bikes.
From designing and sourcing parts, to building and selling our bikes; we hate middlemen and love keeping it simple.
But we let that slip, and there were too many cooks spoiling the Mango broth.
Bike to Work had got a bit too Don Corleone, so we no longer offer it as a payment method.
We’ve got other dazzlingly good payment methods. Make sure you check them out if you want to finance your Mango.
Bikes
When you place an order with us, your bike is built from the ground up by trained bike technicians in our UK warehouse. Your bike and its parts go through a number of various quality tests before, during and after assembly. We also ensure that you bike will be “good to go” as soon as you’ve got it built out the box. This means that your brakes will arrive with the correct pad alignment, your chain will arrive at the right tension and your tyres will be inflated to the correct pressure and so on.
There will be some final assembly required (handlebars bolted into position, saddle height adjusted, pedals fitted).
This can be done at home but we strongly recommend using a qualified mechanic to build and do the final testing.
As soon as your order is placed, it will be put into a build schedule and you’ll be kept up to date at each stage of the build.
Once your bike has been built it will be shipped to you using one of our quality couriers.
- Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland are next day delivery with Fastway
- UK 48h with FedEx
- EU 3-5 working days with FedEx or DHL
- International bike orders usually take 5-7 days with FedEx or DHL
When your order is dispatched you’ll receive an email from Mango Bikes & the courier with an estimated delivery date and tracking information.
See estimated dispatch times for each bike on product pages.
Prices depend on shipping address and are shown at checkout.
Accessories and components
Depending on the item(s) ordered and shipping address the courier may vary between FedEx, DHL and Royal Mail.
We aim to dispatch all UK orders within 1-2 working days.
If your items are sent with FedEx or DHL you’ll receive an email with an estimated delivery date and tracking information.
Orders shipped with Royal Mail will receive a dispatch confirmation from us.
Your happiness levels are of paramount importance to us. Once you order one of our bikes, you are no longer a random person on the Internet – you’re one of us. As such, you automatically get a three-year warranty on the frame and one-year warranty on components. If on the odd chance you need to send something back or make a warranty claim, this is the place to find out how. To put your mind at ease, our default position is to restore your inner equilibrium and make you feel looked after at all times. If you need to speak to us in person, please call 02828 16 3030 or email sales@mangobikes.com.
Refunding your order
You have the right to return your order (unused) within 30 days for a refund, minus any applicable transaction fees imposed on us by any payment processor such as PayPal, etc if you are not completely satisfied for whatever reason. If you want to swap for a different item, then the simplest and quickest thing to do is place a brand new order for your new item and return the old one to us for refund.
Unfortunately, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping in this instance (approximately £20-£30 for a bike, depending on the courier and service). Bike returns will also incur a £30 restocking fee.
If you’re returning an item because it’s faulty or damaged, then we’ll always refund you the postage cost.
How to return your order:
If you have a problem with your order, then you might not need to return it for us to help.
Before taking the next steps, please email us (preferably with a photo) and we’ll try to work out what’s going on. If there’s no easy way around it, then here’s what you need to do.
- Put your unused, labelled item for return back in its original packaging.
- Fill in a returns form and include this with the item you are returning.
- Post the item back to Mango Bikes (our address is on the returns form) making sure the item is securely packaged to avoid damage. Contact us for instructions if needed.
- Email sales@mangobikes.com and let us know your return item is on the way.
- We’ll be in touch if there are any issues and/or when your return has been processed. Please allow up to 10 working days for us to process your return.
Cancelling your order
If for whatever reason you need to cancel your order, we’ll refund the amount of an accessory/component order, minus any applicable transaction fees imposed on us by any payment processor such as PayPal, etc provided you contact us within 24 hours of purchase. Standard stock bikes and custom bikes can also be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase. If you contact us after this time period then there’s a good chance we’ll already be working on your bike or will already have shipped your order. If this is the case and the bike parts have already been picked and allocated, then we charge a £30 restocking fee. If work hasn’t begun or your order is still in our workshop, then we’ll do our best to honour your request to cancel.
