London Cycle Theft Survey 2016 Launched – Win a Point AR
Stolen Ride and London Cycling Campaign have launched a new London Cycling Theft Survey today that looks at the behaviour and experiences of London Cyclists in relation to cycle crime.
Click here to fill out the short survey and be in with the chance of winning a Point AR Flat Bar.
The Survey covers everything from ownership details, bike registration, insurance and security arrangements when bikes are parked in public. It then asks about experiences of bike theft including the geographical and type of location it was stolen from, as well as the use of locks. Also included are questions on the use of locks, and methods of reporting the theft, including the use of social media, and how cycling habits were changed after the theft. You can also have your say in how you think cycle crime can be prevented and what you think can be done to help recover more stolen bikes.
Richard Cantle, Founder of Stolen Ride said:
“I urge all London cyclists to take and share this survey with others. Data is not only essential to fully understand trends and habits; it can be used to push and influence change. Stolen Ride is currently focused on its expansion into crime prevention and this data will be vital in our mission to create awareness and to help keep London cycling”.
Amy Summers, Campaigns Coordinator at London Cycling Campaign said:
“Cycle theft is a huge problem and barrier to cycling growth in London. LCC is committed to creating a happier city for everyone and with two-thirds of victims giving up cycling after having a bike stolen, helping to tackle cycle theft is crucial. The data will help us craft campaigns to address specific areas.”
The survey takes just a couple of minutes to complete and will help to shine some light on the concerns and experiences of cyclists in and around the capital.
